Born and raised in Atlanta, Lara is committed to the success of Georgia-based nonprofits and international development efforts. Since founding Skylight Consulting in early 2012, she has worked on projects for over 20 local nonprofits and consulting practices specializing in the nonprofit sector.

Prior to founding Skylight Consulting, Lara held positions with development organizations in Phnom Penh, Cambodia working with A New Day Cambodia and The Harpswell Foundation. Lara also served the Peace Corps in Khovd, Mongolia where she was elected to the Peer Support Team and Volunteer Advisory Council in addition to playing an active role in a US Embassy initiative at her placement of The American Culture and Information Center.

Lara attended Woodward Academy and graduated cum laude from Goucher College, receiving the Ethel Marie Apter Halpern Community Service Prize; she has since been recognized as an Outstanding Alumnus. Lara has received Georgia Center for Nonprofit’s 30 Under 30 Award and was recognized on a state-wide level for her work as Service Chair of Young Democrats of Atlanta. Lara is an active member of Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Atlanta-area Evaluation Association and Young Professionals for CARE.
